Greater Bay Area’s Kindervarsity Hub and Pembroke College Oxford Establish Exclusive Partnership

Pioneering collaboration to enhance global K-12 education experiences for the future

The Kindervarsity Hub in Panyu, Guangzhou, is proud to announce an exclusive partnership with Pembroke College Oxford. This visionary collaboration, formalised in a recent Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony, unites the strengths of one of Oxford’s constituent colleges with a leader in K-12 education innovation, creating new opportunities for global K-12 and tertiary education impact.

The MOU signing took place in the presence of key representatives from both institutions, including Mrs. Jennifer Yu Cheng, Group President and Deputy Vice Chairwoman of CTF Education Group; Ms. Jennifer Ma, Vice President of the Kindervarsity Hub; the Rt Hon Sir Ernest Ryder, Master of Pembroke; Professor Andre Furger, Tanaka Fellow in Biochemistry; and Mr. Matthew Kirkby, the Advisory Fellow of Pembroke College Oxford.

The Kindervarsity Hub’s vision is to bring together learners, educators, researchers and industry professionals to reimagine K-12 education, preparing today’s youth to become global talents in a dynamic future world. The partnership with Pembroke College Oxford will be synergistic: aiming to encourage global exchanges in academia for students, undergraduates and professors. The partnership will bring together resources from industries and academia to co-curate unique learning experiences that make a meaningful impact on the College and K-12 education.

“The collaboration with Pembroke College Oxford is an extraordinary opportunity to enrich the academic journey of students in the Greater Bay Area as well as Pembroke College Oxford undergraduates,” said Mrs. Cheng at the MOU signing ceremony.

“Pembroke selects the best minds from across the world to be the leaders of the future,” said Sir Ryder. “The College has an Access Programme that supports and helps to identify the best students from all backgrounds. The College’s programmes help to develop inter-disciplinary excellence using Oxford’s tutorial teaching method from an early age.”

Through the MOU, joint programmes will reflect the shared commitment of both parties to bridge academics with real-world learning. First, the Visiting Scholars (Residential) Programme at the Hub, scheduled for March 2025, will bring Pembroke undergraduates and academics directly to the Kindervarsity Hub in Guangzhou. Through visits to high tech, smart manufacturing and cultural landmarks, undergraduates from Pembroke College Oxford will gain a well-rounded perspective of the fast-evolving world of work and be inspired to learn more about the region’s development. Through exchange programmes, workshops and talks, students from the Greater Bay Area will gain world-class, immersive academic experiences delivered by the Visiting Scholars from Pembroke College Oxford, inspiring them to pursue studies at top global institutions.

Second, the Hub Connect Scholars Programme at Pembroke College Oxford will offer students from schools located at the Hub as well as students recruited in Mainland China and Hong Kong the chance to advance their academic pursuits and experience an authentic learning experience at Pembroke College Oxford. No doubt, these opportunities will provide students with invaluable exposure to a world-class academic environment, equipping them with critical skills needed to succeed in a global landscape.

“We are grateful for the efforts of both parties in making this Hub Connect Scholars Programme happen,” said Ms. Jennifer Ma, Vice President of Kindervarsity Hub. “I am confident that after this Pilot Year, we will be encouraged to further our relationship by extending our reach and scope of collaboration.”

“The Scholars Programme will provide senior secondary students with the opportunity to have the best tutorial teaching experience and a broad cultural exchange of ideas,” added Sir Ryder. “It will provide Pembroke scholars with a unique educational experience.”

The new partnership between the Hub and Pembroke underscores the Hub’s commitment to preparing students to become the future ready talent of tomorrow.
