With the lifting of pandemic restrictions, there has never been a better time to engage in outreach that benefits the community in meaningful ways. CTF Education Group (CTFEG) is committed to collaborating with partners with the same values to create a better tomorrow for those in need today. In this spirit, the CTFEG “EduMakers Volunteer Team” (EVT) was formed and held its first outreach event, the “Together, We Share Blessings” initiative for underprivileged and elderly members of the Shum Shui Po community over the Chinese New Year.
Committed to Creating Shared Value (CSV) and Supporting the Community
CTFEG is committed to cultivating creating shared value, promoting an inclusive culture in the community and driving sustainability. The Group established the EVT in this spirit, inviting members from across its education ecosystem – from Victoria Educational Organisation, DSC International School, ARCH Education and Jennifer Yu Cheng Girls Impact Foundation, as well as family members of staff — to join the volunteer team with the goal of “Make a Difference” to support community needs and outreach initiatives.
Sharing Our Blessings through Direct Engagement
CTFEG is committed to making an impact on the Hong Kong community by launching a series of initiatives over the past 3 years, including “One Mask • One Heart,” which collected and donated over 30,000 masks and sanitising products to children with disabilities and under-privileged families; “ Walk for the City; Care for the Community” fundraising activities together with Heep Hong Society, and supporting the Hong Chi Association through the “Share for Good” platform supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities impacted by COVID-19.
This year, CTFEG took one more step forward in establishing the EduMakers Volunteer Team and launching its first charitable event, “Together, We Share Blessings” on 4 February. CTFEG, together with Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group and Society for Community Organization (SoCO), jointly distributed “Caring Bears” and Chinese New Year blessing packs prepared by the EduMakers Volunteer Team to over 700 underprivileged families in Shum Shui Po. In addition to distributing blessing packs, the volunteer team also visited the elderly and households with their heartfelt blessings.
On the event day, Mrs. Jennifer Yu Cheng, Group President and Deputy Vice Chairwoman of CTFEG, and Mrs. Jennifer Ma, Group Chief Strategy Officer of CTFEG joined EduMakers Volunteer Team, officiated the “Together, We Share Blessings” initiative. They also joined EduMaker Volunteer Team in preparing blessing packs and visiting the underprivileged families in Sham Shui Po, hoping to understand more about their needs, and to share their own greetings and CNY blessings.
Mrs. Jennifer Yu Cheng, Group President, and Deputy Vice Chairwoman of CTFEG said, “The EduMakers Volunteer Team is an important part of our commitment to fulfil our vision to ‘Create Shared Value’ and put into practice the spirit of giving back. We are committed to providing timely support to communities and individuals through planning, promoting, and participating in charitable events. Through warm partnerships with stakeholders, we hope to bring about positive change in the community, including in schools, individual and communal quality of life – in short, in ‘Make a Difference’.”
Looking forward, the Group aims to drive the sustainable development of our community by dedicating shared resources and connecting diverse stakeholders. The EduMakers Volunteer Team will continue to engage in charitable outreach activities that provide timely support to many members of our community and to act as a role model for the next generation.
