At a Naming Ceremony held at HKUST on 15 June 2021, Dr. Adrian Cheng, Vice Chairman and Group Chief Executive Officer of CTF Education Group, and Mrs. Jennifer Yu Cheng, Group President and Deputy Vice Chairwoman of CTF Education Group, proudly officiated the “Cheng Kar-Shun Robotics Institute” on behalf of the Chow Tai Fook Charity Foundation.
The Foundations’ HK$100 million donation is poised to bring HKUST’s robotics and AI research and learning to new heights, while advancing innovation, entrepreneurship and critical knowledge transfer.
“It gives me great pleasure to show support for the excellent work of HKUST in this way. It is also an expression of my great respect and deep love for my father. I hope that through the sharing of resources with HKUST and society at large, we may help create more opportunities for the younger generations, who are the future of our society. I also hope that we may thereby contribute to a solid foundation for the great development of Hong Kong in the years and decades to come”, said Dr. Adrian Cheng.
Out of appreciation for Chow Tai Fook Charity Foundation’s support, HKUST named its Robotics Institute in Hong Kong and future Guangzhou campus after Dr. Cheng Kar-Shun.
The Foundation and HKUST share a common vision for robotic innovations which could drive transformative impact to bring about significant benefits to society.
