Victoria Educational Organisation (VEO) proudly launched its first interactive live streamed virtual graduation ceremony for seven campuses on July 30th and 31st on the 55th anniversary of the organisation. The graduation ceremony was a major success, drawing an impressive turnout of over 1,500 graduates and parents and other guests.
For over half a century, VEO has remained steadfast in its commitment to educating and inspiring the next generation, endowing them to seek every opportunity to contribute to the world. A member of CTF Education Group, VEO has been investing more resources in teaching and learning in recent years. VEO collaborated with Project Zero at Harvard Graduate School of Education to promote maker-centered learning and technology development which are centered around global research.
VEO is honoured to be supported by a number of notable representatives and guests in its first interactive live streamed virtual graduation ceremony, including Dr. Adrian Cheng, JP, Board Director, Victoria Educational Organisation and Vice Chairman & Chief Executive Officer, CTF Education Group; Mrs. Jennifer Yu Cheng, Supervisor of Victoria Educational Organisation & Group President and Deputy Vice Chairwoman of CTF Education Group; Ms. Rebecca Ip, Executive Director of Victoria Educational Organisation; and Guests of Honour Mr. Lambert Chan, Chief Executive, Hong Kong Committee for UNICEF; Dr the Hon Moses Cheng, GBM, GBS, JP and Professor Joseph J Y Sung, Mok Hing Yiu Professor of Medicine, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Their speeches were a source of inspiration for our VEO graduates and their families.
Throughout the event, the graduates and their families enjoyed engaging with one another and with the hosts. They sang the school song together and interacted with Principals, teachers and other graduates. Each campus team thoughtfully prepared a highlight of school life for the graduates and pre-recorded choreographed student performances as a tribute to VEO parents.
Mrs. Jennifer Yu Cheng said: “One thing is for certain: VEO’s 2020 graduation ceremony will never be forgotten! Despite the challenges brought on by the pandemic, our VEO community remained united and acted quickly to transform a very traditional event into a live streamed interactive ceremony marked by creativity and warmth. We had merely three weeks to prepare, but the virtual graduation ceremonies took place to the applause of over 1,500 online guests. The student performances were tremendous, showcasing outstanding trilingual proficiency, confidence, creativity and teamwork – the best demonstration of our commitment to excellence in education. We are so proud of you all!”
Ms Rebecca Ip added, “We managed to connect with our graduates, parents, principals and teachers in a brand new format. My heartfelt appreciation goes out to all VEO staff, parents and graduates for their steadfast support. As the graduation ceremony came to an end, everyone waved goodbye virtually in unison. The graduates and their parents offered VEO their thanks for putting on such a special and memorable event.”
